Dr. McClendon was our dentist and a friend of the family. His boy played soccer with Jason and me, his daughter Charisse was our babysitter. I am sorry to just now be learning of his passing.

It was the stories that made my dental appointments memorable and tolerable! Bill told the best stories, all from his own life experiences. He was soft spoken, had a gentle touch and a joyful spirit! Longview was blessed to have him. My family and I were blessed to call him "friend" for 40 years! He was my brother in Christ and I miss him like I miss my biological brother! Grateful to his sweet wife, Susan, for her recent phone call and words of encouragement. We identify since 2014 made us both widows. My thoughts and prayers go out to all Bill's family! Please accept our condolences on the death of your loved one. Curtis and I started having our dentristy done my Dr. Mclendon. I loved listening to his stories as he worked on our teeth. he was so sweet and caring. We moved four years ago, and we kept coming to Longview just because we liked our Dr. McLendon I just had my teeth worked on in September I miss him already. Curtis and Charlda Wilkinson
Carolyn and I started teaching at Pine Tree in 1970. We also began going to Dr. McLendon twice a year. We moved to Denton in 2008 but still, after 40 years we still drove to see him twice a year. We were shocked and are sad. .Our prayers go out to his family, his staff and to all his many friends with whom we share the highest opinion of this wonderful man. We already miss him..... So sorry for your loss. He was my dentist for years. He was a wonderful dentist, but above that, he was a great person! I will miss him very much!
Heartbreaking! He was a wonderful compassionate person! I was 8 years old when I first went into his office. He was my dentist for 25 yrs. Most people don't enjoy going to the dentist or they are afraid. :-) Even as a child I never remember being scared to go to the dentist. He was always kind, patient, and smiling. My prayers go out to his family, friends, amazing staff, and many others lives he touched!

So sad to hear of Dr.McClendon's passing. Our whole family had him as our dentist. He always made our visits so pleasant, such a gentle and caring man. He will be sorely missed.
