William H. "Bill" Delk's Obituary
Services for William H (Bill) Delk, 86, of Longview will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Scott Schulik officiating.
Bill was born August 2, 1936 in Snow Hill, Arkansas to Truman Delk and Mable Sempe Delk. Bill graduated from Norphlet High School in 1954 where he was all-state in football 2 years and lettered in 3 sports. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956, Bill married his sweetheart, Rowe Anne Clawson, on Dec 29, 1956. Bill earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Sciences from LeTourneau Technical Institute in 1961 and immediately began working at Texas Eastman where he retired some 35 plus years later. Bill was an active member, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Deacon Emeritus at Mobberly Baptist Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, and is survived by a half-sister, Lillian Jo Kelly, as well as his wife of 65 years, Rowe Anne; son, Ray Delk and wife Leigh Anne; grandsons William Reagan Delk and wife Staci; Austin Harris Delk and wife Carley; and 3 great grandchildren: Raylee Carol Delk, Jenni Marie Delk and William Thomas Delk.
