William "Bill" Fisher's Obituary
Services for William "Bill" Fisher, 76, of Longview will be held in Chapel of Rader Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at noon. Burial will be at the Marble Falls City Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in Marble Falls, Texas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 pm Monday. Mr. Fisher passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Longview.
Mr. Fisher was born in St. Louis, MO to William and Elizabeth Fisher on April 24, 1937. He graduated Belton High School in 1955 and married Johnette Shaffer on September 26, 1959 in Marble Falls, TX. Mr. Fisher was a veteran that served in the U.S. Army. He received his degree at Stephen F. Austin State University. He owned Professional Employment Services in Longview. Later he worked for Gregg County as a Probation officer. Mr. Fisher was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church, the Exhortors Sunday School Class, and the Longview Lions Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Longview Lodge 404 and was a proud Shriner. He loved to fish and collect LP records. Mr. Fisher was an avid reader and would clip articles and scriptures that were meaningful to him. He made a 15 volume book set for his grandchildren with articles and scriptures that would positively influence their lives from childhood through adulthood.
He is survived by his wife Johnette Fisher of Longview; daughter and son-in-law Carol Jo and Robert Mize of Waco; grandchildren Macey, Michael, and Meagan Mize; sister Sally Parks of Dallas; and his aunt Wava Bettes.
