Wayne Perry's Obituary
Wayne Perry left this earth to meet his Savior on Tuesday July 29, 2014 at home in Elderville. Wayne was born on April 18, 1932 in Churchill, Rusk County to J.B. and Isabel Pool Perry. His daddy died when he was 12 years old and he was raised by his mother and another close aunt and uncle. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1950 and Kilgore College with a machinist degree. He went to work at Garret Oil Tool and continued to work there 40 plus years until his retirement. He married Mittie Ann Belote from Tatum in 1956. They had two daughters, Mary Frances Perry and Cathy Ann Perry. Wayne loved his family and friends unconditionally and did things for others daily. He loved to play baseball and could knock a ball out of the park. He was a Boy Scout leader, loved his garden, fishing and hunting. No one could or would cook fried catfish like Wayne Perry! His greatest joy was serving his Lord Jesus – teaching Sunday School, preaching, singing, visiting shut-ins and giving things away to those in need or just because he loved you.
