Waymon was my father Gerald “Wayland” Brown first cousin. I have just now found out Waymon and his sister Claudia Jo have passed away. I’m so sorry to hear of this since we had lost track of them. I met Waymon at Enterprise Academy in Kansas. He taught me how to pitch in fast pitch softball...which I continued to do for 35 years. He is someone I’ll never forget from my high school days.

Uncle Waymon was one of my favorite people to hang around. He always had a confident way about him and seemed to take everything in stride. I remember going to look at that mustang sitting all alone and rotten looking. I told Uncle that it would be cheaper to buy one already restored. He said, "Maybe so, but I always wanted to do this." He worked on it for years. One time when we ran by to check on it he collapsed in the floor. It was a scary few hours before we knew it was carbon monoxide poisoning. He had been tuning on the engine off and on that day and it just happened that while I was out there talking with him he maxed out on his carbon monoxide intake for the day. He recovered well and I always had to repress the urge to tease him about making out with the mustangs tail pipe. I was so glad he let us paint it red. Yes, it would have been cheaper to buy one already restored but then I wouldn't have had those times with a very good influence on my life. Thank you Uncle!
Mr Brown was one of my favorite patients. I sure will miss him. He was a really interesting man. I always enjoyed our visits. Be will be remembered and missed.
