Virginia Allen Richardson's Obituary
Graveside services for Virginia Allen Richardson, 99, of Longview, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in the mausoleum chapel of Memory Park Cemetery with Reverend Christi Conway officiating. Interment will follow services.
Ms. Richardson was born March 15, 1908 in Tatum, TX to James Edward and Annie Allen. She passed away Saturday, January 26, 2008 at a local medical center.
Ms. Richardson was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a school teacher for 22 years teaching in the Longview and Tatum Independent School Districts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Annie Allen, her first husband, Gordon Pruitt and second husband, Cecil Richardson. She was also preceded in death by step-daughter, Lacolian Richardson Reid.
She is survived by her sons, James Pruitt and wife, Nancy, of Temple, TX, Don Pruitt and wife Gwen, of Roswell, NM; and step-daughter, Camille Richardson
Fletcher, and husband, P. A., of Longview; grandchildren, James Pruitt of Hawaii, Claudia Pruitt-Ferguson and husband, Paul, of Bedford, TX, Shelley Crow and husband, Bob, of Prosper, TX, Bart Reynolds of Longview; great grandchildren, Ashley, James, and Brandon Pruitt, all of Bedford, TX, Rachel, Holly, Jordan, Jenna, and Caden Crow; and children of
Lacolian Richardson Reid, Barry Shelton of Grand Prairie, TX, and Brad Shelton of Friendswood, TX; her loving caregivers, Earlene Daniels, Peggy Scarborough, and Connie Bruner.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army or to Wesley McCabe United Methodist Church.
