Mr. Mason was the most patient father's anyone could ever have. I first met him when Judy and I ran together in High School, so you can only imagine. He was always real soft spoken and always took the time to explain. He was very respected, and his respect for others was returned. He will be remembered as a loving Father, Grandfather and Friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his Family, FULL of FUN MEMORIES.##imported-begin##Sara Ellis Belmont##imported-end##

Our relationship with Vaughn was limited, but being as Janice is our daughter-in-law we feel a kinship to him. Our thoughts go out to her, her mother and the rest of the family. May God keep them in his love and protection.##imported-begin##John and Lee Albert##imported-end##

To The Family, We were so sorry to hear about Vaughn's passing. Also, sorry he had to suffer so long. He was such a good Christian man. We were both members at Northside Church of Christ several years ago. He was a hard worker in the church. He also, had taught Sunday School there & did a good job. We all loved him & enjoyed being in class with him. He will be missed by so many people. We are sorry for your loss, but he is in a better place! God Bless##imported-begin##Lee & May Armstrong##imported-end##

My sister wrote this and I thought I would share:
A friend of mine from school was traveling with my Dad and I to Arkansas to spend some time at lake Ten Killer . Dad always drove through the mountains in Oklahoma on Hwy 259. My friend turned to my Dad and said "I don't believe in God" as all the color went out of my face and I tried to vanish into the backseat. As we drove up the mountain, my Dad listened patiencely as she went on and exchanged a few comments now and then of his own. We have a special place he has always stopped at called Three Sticks at the top of the mountain. From this observation turnout you can see for miles. He asked my friend to look at the valley below, the trees that surrounded us and the sky above. He said "do you truelly believe that all this is not the work of God?' With the wind singing by us my friend was silenced and I have never heard her say that again.
Having battled Cancer and Parkinsons for the last several years, Daddy's suffering ended yesterday evening at the VA hospital in Shreveport. Mother and I had spent the day with him yesterday. He touched many lives in many ways and we all have fond memories to find comfort in during this time of grieving. He a had strength of conviction and faith that was enviable. I am sure that I am not alone in the loss I feel and know in my heart he is in a better place.
