T.W. Swinney's Obituary
T.W. "Tom" Swinney, 84, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 27, 2010. Services will be held at 10 AM Friday, January 29, 2010 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Reverend Scott Schulik officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 PM in Mason Cemetery in Arp, Texas.
Tom was born on January 5, 1926 in Arp, Texas to Thomas Wiley Sr. and Nola Swinney. He entered the Navy in March of 1944 and was honorably discharged in October of 1949. Pearl Harbor was his main port during his enlistment. Tom married the former Mary Frances Lacy on November 13, 1947 in Overton, Texas. Tom retired from Texas Eastman in 1986 after 34 years of service. He has been a member of Mobberly Baptist Church for 48 years.
Tom cherished his wife of 62 years and was an inspiration to others in his years of devoted service to his Lord Jesus Christ and his family. He will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Frances Swinney; son, Barry Swinney and his wife Beth of Neches; daughter, Debbie Martin of Longview; 1 sister, Ruby Smith of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Shawn Swinney and wife Brandi of Tyler, Laci Swinney of Tyler, and Jonathan Martin and fiancé Nikki Pond of Longview; and 2 great grandchildren, Dillon and Emilee Claire Swinney of Tyler.
