When I got the news of Trent's tragic passing, I was stunned and deeply saddened. No one goes through this life without facing the loss of a loved ones, but when a vibrant & young life is suddenly taken, it makes it even more difficult to accept. So be assured that your loss has been deeply felt by me and many others who had the good fortune of knowing Trent.
Trent had all the fine qualities that parents hope to see in their children when they become parents, ie, good character, honesty, integrity, and compassion. Dear Kay and Ronnie,

You have parented and raised the finest of sons. To have a son who was compassionate, responsive, and undaunted by crisis is the goal of many a parent. Trent's selfless concern for others ranks him as a man beyond his years.

The reality of this loss is very hard to take in and I am so sorry. No one can quite know the pain of losing him like you and his family except God. May He be the One Who helps you when you encounter an unexpected difficult thought or situation and may He be the One Who reminds you of joys that only you know.

It's been a long time. Mom and Dad told me about Trent. I am very sorry for your loss. I remember when we used to play together out in the yard behind your house in Pine Tree. I met Trent in college during my first week at Sam. It has been over 10 years ago but it seems like it was yesterday. I knew Trent was a great guy within five minutes of first meeting him. I really got to know him when I served on the International Fraternity Council committee. Even though we were not in the same fraternity, I considered Trent as one of “my brothers”. He was an and extremely kind hearted soul. I cannot imagine the pain you must be going through. Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers everyday. Sorry for your loss. Will keep you in my prayers. Lost my daughter Lauren 8 years ago and its still tough some days. Reading the bible helped me. We will have our children longer than we won't have them. We are promised this as christians. Thank God for that.
