Pastor Tommy Wayne Marshall's Obituary
Tommy Wayne Marshall of Henderson, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 20, 2024, in his home surrounded by family members. Services will be held at Rader Funeral Home of Henderson on Monday September 23, at 10:00 am. The visitation will be held on Sunday September 22, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, also at Rader. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bruce Bailey of Pine Hill Baptist Church.
Tommy was born on April 12, 1937, in Henderson, Texas to the late Tommy and Estelle Marshall. Tommy had an undeniable love for education. After graduating from Baylor University, he went on to earn his Master of Theology degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as a Master of Science degree in Social Work at UT Arlington. Most importantly, Tommy loved Jesus Christ. He heard God’s calling to be a minister of the gospel and served faithfully for 60 years, proclaiming the love of Jesus.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sylvia Marshall. His sons and their wives: Mike and Cindy Marshall of Frankston, Texas, David and DeLela Marshall of Nevada, Texas, and Paul Marshall of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas. His daughters and their husbands: Gay and Bruce Bailey of Henderson, Texas, Kerry and Todd Adkins of McKinney, Texas, and Shelli and Bill Burd of Kilgore, Texas. Tommy has been incredibly blessed with 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Tommy is also survived by his brother, Jerry Marshall of New Jersey.
Pallbearers will be Mike Marshall, David Marshall, Paul Marshall, Todd Adkins, Bill Burd and Brock Vinson.
