Ben Degreen, Jr.
Tom was one of my customers. He loved his family, to "hustle" drums of glycol, play golf, fish, and eat at Johnny Cace's. I used to laugh and smile at his funny stories. I enjoyed our times together as he treated me like a son and would delight in giving me a tour of his customers' gas dehydration units that he would service. He loved to sponsor "betting holes" at various local golf functions. It was humorous to go eat at Johnny Cace's and have Johnny sit down and talk with us about the next big fishing trip to Louisiana. It was even funnier to watch Johnny eat Tom's food as they would talk. One of my favorite memories was to take Tom and Peggy (Mildred) to the Country Tavern for ribs. Tom had never been there, but Mildred had. Tom didn't realize that she had been there to dance before they had met. It was funny to see his surprise at learning that after the many years that they had been married.
