Thomas William Friedlander's Obituary
Tom Friedlander, age 65, died peacefully at home in Hallsville January 19, 2020, with his daughter Rebecca at his side, after a protracted illness.  He is now in heaven, whole of body and in the arms of his Savior and Friend Jesus Christ.  He was born on February 16, 1954 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Gardner Louis and Mary Banning Friedlander.  His marriage to the former Catherine Olszowy ended in divorce after Tom was severely disabled in an automobile accident that took place Christmas evening of 1989.
While Tom lived most of his life in Wisconsin, where he was educated and worked, he moved to Texas in 2007 to be near his children.  He purchased a cabin outside Hallsville he named The Refuge where, over the years, many occasions for worship and praise have been celebrated.  While the most recent of these was to take place this past Christmas Eve, he became critically ill that day and eventually was released into hospice care.
Preceding Tom in death were his parents, and an infant sister Mary Susan.  Surviving him are his siblings Margaret Friedlander Brinig and Gardner LeRoy Friedlander, his children Rebecca Ann, Caleb Gardner and Peter Mark, many nieces and nephews and their children.  He will also be missed by many dear friends in the Hallsville area, particularly Nathan and Terra Lenox.
