Steve was such a good friend to so many people. I didn't get to see him often over the years, but it was always a pleasure when I did. He was such a kind and gentle man, and a great musician. I will always appreciate Steve and Mike Austell's help in demonstrating Mossman guitars at the Overton Bluegrass Festival.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family today.

Steve was a former student back in his days at Pine Tree High School Over the years, I have been able to visit with him. He always had a smile and shared a testimony. A few weeks ago, I visited Steve at Good Shephard and once again, he had the smile and shared his testimony. He assured me that he was ready for whatever plans that God had for him. Thanks for the life of Steve and MayGod Bless each member of his family during this difficult time. Our prayers are with you.

I have known Steve(Sleepy) since youth group at church (Greggton First Baptist). He has always been such a dear friend. When my husband died in 2007 he and some friends provided bagpipe players to send him off in style... it was unforgettable. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. My heart goes out to the family in their grief. He is with God and loved ones who have gone before him.

Dear Tehan Family,
It is hard to know how to say we are sorry for you loss but we will say this...as a friend of Archie & Peggy, Walt & Cathy Lou and other members of the family we would say both of us stand in awe of the love, devotion and admiration of Steve. Meeting his beautiful wife Tammy, it was apparent that his love & support came from her. Steve's talent & Walter's talent came from God. His upbringing with the honor & Christian principles came from his parents. We are so proud we were able to share a glimpse of how special Steve Tehan was to this world & to his family. God bless you at this time of grief.

I knew Steve mostly in the late '80's when he would play at McCann Street Grill. A nicer man I had never met. So talented. I called my good friend Bill Capps to tell him of Steve's passing and said "I always liked Steve". Billy's response was "who didn't? What was not to like"...summed that up. Steve, you will be missed by many many people.
Tehan family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with your family.

What a loss to our city and community. Tehan always had a grin on his face and a kind word to say. I am going to miss him. I pray that God brings his family peace during this difficult time.
my heart is saddened at the loss of such a good and decent man. my heart is also rejoicing , for he is in Heaven with the one he loved most, God, who gave Steve to us for such a short time. Steve was always humble and obedient to his friends, co-workers, and to everyone he met. You always put a smile on when you saw him coming up the road, because, that's just the way he was. I will miss him greatly. May God bless the Tehan family during this difficult time.

To the Tehan family . . . I knew Steve back in 60s and 70s. We attended Pine Tree and sang in the choir together and were also members of the youth group at Greggton First Baptist Church. He was a dear friend and a real inspiration, so very talented. The last time I saw Steve was at Mrs. Jeanne Dixon's viewing prior to her funeral. We spoke briefly. It was so good to see him. It brought back fond memories of church youth choir trips, etc. Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a very kind and caring person. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. May God be with you and comfort you during this time of great loss.
