It is hard to find the right words at a time like this, we have known Steve for many years. My wife knew his grandparents, I knew him when he was working at USI Axelson before he went into the service (had a burr haircut) back then. Since then he has been a good neighbor until he moved to Cherokee last year. He occasionally stopped by my shop or garden and kept me updated on what was going on and usually left saying "if you need anything holler". No matter where he saw my wife or I, he would always greet us hey Mr. or Mrs. P, we knew it was Steve for no one else ever called us that. As many have already expressed, he will be greatly missed in our community.
