I first met the Bryans in 2001 when introduced through Joe and Caryl Pinson to help the Bryan's out around their home, as Mrs. Bryan had just broken her arm. I went over on a weekend that turned out to be the first of many because the Bryans were such wonderful folks, that visiting them on the pretext of helping was a highlight of my week. In truth, Mrs. Bryan ran circles around me.
Mr. Bryan was in pretty good physical shape at that time, although he was limited in what he could physically do. Despite those limitations, which got more pronounced during the time that I lived in Longview, he had such a wonderful and humorous outlook that shone through in every conversation. I believe he is a man who truly practiced being content in whatever situation he found himself in, and believing in the Lord's sovereign control of all.
He was always a gentleman and word and deed and a fount of information about different subjects, and seemed always willing to try new things. What a wonderful match Mr. and Mrs. Bryan were. I saw a shining example of a Godly and Christ-centered marriage and life from each. Although Mr. Bryan is gone in body, I'm so happy that one day we'll see him in Heaven, fully functional, and rarin' to go. If there is a Luby's in Heaven, I'm pretty sure he'll be found there, at least once a week.
With love and great respect for a kind and overall wonderful man,
Pam Warfield
