Judy and I had the privilege of meeting Shirley shortly after we moved to Forestlake in 1978. She was warm, open and friendly and treated us like family. And her sweet Southern drawl was delightful! When you were in her company, Shirley made you feel more important and appreciated. Judy and I were thrilled when Hank took her for his bride after losing Alice. Though we seldom got to be with Hank and Shirley as often as we would have liked, the time we did will be treasures. Hank, we are heartbroken for your loss of this wonderful lady, and for our loss of a wonderful friend.

Dear Hank,

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Shirley's passing. I feel bad that I didn't get the news in time to attend the Memorial Service.

Of course, we are never ready for this, and I just have to remember that God's timing is never the same as ours. He is still on the throne and knows what He's doing.

What a dear, sweet lady she was. Please know that our prayers are for you at this difficult time.
