Sara Lazelle Morris Hafner's Obituary
Sara Lazelle Morris Hafner, 85, of Henderson, passed away Wednesday September 25, 2013. She was born August 6, 1928 in Brachfield, rural Rusk County. She was one of eleven children born to Turner O. Morris and Bessie Haden Morris.
She lived much of her life in southern California with her husband and three children. She worked for 27 years for the Marine Corps Exchange at Camp Pendleton, California. After her retirement she returned to Texas where she owned and operated The Village Attic antique shop in Henderson.
She loved traveling, interior decorating and entertaining. She was an accomplished oil painter and made the best tacos ever. Her family and friends will remember her for her creativity, generosity, and hospitality.
She is survived by her children; Linda Reynolds of Apopka, Florida, Sonny Hilliard of Cody, Wyoming, Brenda McDonald of Grinnell, Iowa; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, three sisters; Johnnie Tipton of Longview, Mary Fountain of Longview, Rubie Richardson of Oceanside, California, two brothers; Michael Morris of Harlton, Texas and Ronnie Morris of Milton, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Forest Head.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday October 1, 2013 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Rader Funeral Home of Henderson. A graveside service is planned for 10:00am Wednesday October 2, 2013 at Bethel Cemetery.
