Mrs Hafner, a friend my family has known since I was very young but much more than a friend, she was family. I can not remember a time when she was not put together and looking great! Our families, the Hilliards, Hafners, Duncans & Buttons spent many holidays, birthdays, graduations, & just a come on over tonight, and for each one, I was always excited to be going because I knew how it would be a good time. Mrs Hafner was a painter and I am glad that my mother, Jane Button, is the proud owner of a couple of them. She had great taste and always knew exactly the right gift for her friends & family. I know she is at peace now and is probably already found God's easel and is painting images we can only dream of. Thanks for all the wonderful memories and be certain that I will look you up when my time has come. Love You Bunches!!!

I am sad that you have left this earth Mrs. Hafner you were always there for my mom Jane Button and her daughters in good and bad and I thank you for that. I remember you as always being dressed up with beautiful jewelry, you were one classy lady. Oh my gosh all those get togethers we went to and my dad even came along which was hard to do but he came because of you my friend and of course Jack. You always remembered me even when I moved away and I thank you for that, and apologize if I did not get back with you. My mom sure misses you and I know she is trying to do her best to deal with your death. Friends are very far and few but you ladies (Button, Duncan ) and you were a great trio. The children were crazy too, we all had a good time when we were at your parties, I still miss those times. Please say hello to my dad and keep a watch over us all.

as you are laid to rest today, I know you are at peace and I just wanted to tell you I am always thinking of you, always will. I love you and miss you. I know you are out of pain and our pain is in missing you. I can see the beautiful smile you always had as I remember you and all our get togethers. what a wonderful time we all had. it was always so exciting to know the holidays were coming and the hilliards (hafners), duncans and buttons would all be together. I miss all of that and everyone. I know you are with loved ones having one great party as we all wish you farewell. say hello to my dad and all our mutual friends. rest well mrs hafner, you will always be in our hearts. on the wings of angels I know you are.

I first met a shy young mother with two kids at Camp Pendleton in 1949. We were both Marine wives living in sub standard housing, making due without a lot of things. Our paths next crossed in 1962 when our husbands were on embassy duty in Panama, Canal Zone. The last time we were together was when we all ended up together in Oceanside, California. Liz was a dear friend and a wonderful " buddy!" Oh, the things she could make me to do!! We spent many happy hours traveling up and down the coast visiting antique shops, thrift stores, ect....she was always up for any adventure!!! All our great evenings with Liz ,Jack,Jane, Marshall and all our kids dancing, eating and just being together and having fun! She was such a good friend always there when you needed to talk or just have a good cry!!! The last time I saw Liz she and Forest stopped by to visit us in Boise, what fun we had laughing about the good times we had shared. Were did the time go? I remember that Liz would always correct me when I would start to introduce her as my "old friend" to someone and she would say, " no, not old friend but friend of long standing!!" She corrected more than once!!!! Liz, There are so many more things I could say....you decorated my house with your beautiful paintings....I have enjoyed our conversations on the phone these past years. I love you and will miss those times more than I can express. I will miss you " my friend of long standing" and will treasure all the happy times we spent together. Love and kisses forever, Peigi.

I have so many wonderful memories of Liz!!!! She was a second Mom to me. Liz, Jane and my mom, Peigi, were always doing things together!!! I loved all the times we spent at their houses. There was always dancing, food,love and let's not forget the Bunny hop!!!! There was laughter, tears and always support. Watching those three women interact taught me what true friendship was all about!!! I knew I could always go to one of them for comfort. Liz help me welcome home my dad from the war when I did not know how to..........thank you Liz!!! Thank you for being always full of life and love. I love the way you always had many different plates for our Christmas dinner. I still collect plates to do the same. Every Christmas when I pull out the plates I mention you! I love you Liz....I will deeply miss you....dance...dance...dance

Liz, this is very hard for me. we have been friends since 1963. that's when we first met one another. we had Embassy Duty in Panama for 2 years each. Our husbands both were in the Marine Corps so we had a bond there. then we ended up living in Oceanside, California for a number of years. I still do. I know how much you loved California and wanted to come back, but it wasn't to be. So my dear friend, rest easy and know part of me will not be the same. I will always be grateful for our friendship and all the memories.

I will always remember mrs hafner as a very wise woman, she had a heart of gold and was smart as a whip. I am so sorry for your loss. I am however, happy she is out of pain and I too believe she is dancing up a storm. along with painting the most beautiful picture shes ever painted, heaven. my love you all.
