Funeral services for Roger W. Johnson, 80, of Longview, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011 at Mobberly Baptist Church with Dr. Laney Johnson and Scott Schulik officiating. Celebration through music will be led by Read Obituary

Roger was such a fine Christian friend. He was dedicated to his family, his church, but most of all, his Lord. We are currently on a mission trip but want to send you our love and prayers.

My family transferred to this area in 2008. I have known Roger through the Rotary club. He served on my flag team for several years. He is one of the finest men I have ever known. He was a role model for me...and I am 50 now. Please know that you are all in my prayers. I know I will see him again when my day comes.

Uncle Roger was always kind to me.
Kindness seems like a small thing, but I can't overstate how important it was to me as an awkward and difficult child, growing up in an awkward and difficult extended family, to be treated with kindness and respect by Uncle Roger. It was never a burden or trial to be around him: it was a positive pleasure. I have nothing but fond memories and deep affection for Uncle Roger.
