My family transferred to this area in 2008. I have known Roger through the Rotary club. He served on my flag team for several years. He is one of the finest men I have ever known. He was a role model for me...and I am 50 now. Please know that you are all in my prayers. I know I will see him again when my day comes.

My husband, Russ, and I are both retired CPA's and had the pleasure of working with Roger on IRS matters. Roger was always fair, considerate and understanding. He represented the IRS well.
On another personal note, my parents, Bill and Dale Hewell, were public accountants in Longview for many years. When my father was away in military service, my mother would call Roger with tax preparation questions and he always provided her with guidance.

Uncle Roger was always kind to me.
Kindness seems like a small thing, but I can't overstate how important it was to me as an awkward and difficult child, growing up in an awkward and difficult extended family, to be treated with kindness and respect by Uncle Roger. It was never a burden or trial to be around him: it was a positive pleasure. I have nothing but fond memories and deep affection for Uncle Roger.
