I met Bob when I first went to work for Lone Star Steel in May 1980. We were carpooling from Longview to Lone Star. I always admired him. He was a fine man. The world will miss him, but I believe he's safe in God's arms - reunited with so many loved ones.

What a blessing Bob was to me! Bob was a lovable guy and great mentor for me when I joined the Lone Star Steel engineering team. He was the definition of a profesional as well as good friend. This world will greatly miss a man like Bob, but I take comfort in knowing he's with the Lord and reunited with his loved ones in heaven.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob for many years at Lone Star Steel. He was undoubtedly one of the nicest "gentlemen" I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. We had to travel to Germany together to look at some equipment we were going to purchase. Bob and I looked at the equipment but we also found time to look around England. We had a wonderful trip. I will truly miss this man.

Bob hired me for my first job out of college and we worked together for many years at Lone Star Steel. One of the finest engineers I have had the opportunity to work with, a fine Christian man as well. He will be greatly missed. Dave Witt, Tyler, Texas

I had the honor of knowing Bob McGaw for most of my life and I cherish many memories. He was a very soft spoken kind man devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father and true friend to all. Oh, how his smile would light up a room! His love of life and people was his coat of armor and exemplified his devotion and service to his Lord and Savior. His presence will truly be missed by many but knowing that he is reunited with his loving wife brings a sense of comfort and peace. To Bryan and Kyle - my thoughts and prayers are with you - Your dad had a wonderful life and loved you both very much. May you find comfort in the many memories you have and know that the Lord is celebrating his arrival as we celebrate his life. Love to you both...Lori Carns
Uncle Bobby was friendly, funny, and a gentle-man. One of the kindest men i ever knew. Every time i visited my grandmother in Longview (Dorothy Bearce McGaw) Uncle Bobby would have me over to visit and spend the night. We always had plenty of sweet cereal, hot dogs and hamburgers, and lots of toys to play with. He gave me good advice when i became an adult. We always knew he went to Texas A&M, but he wasn't obnoxious about it. He loved the McGaw family reunions. i always remember him praying for our Saturday big family meal, and would always cry during the prayers. I will miss him tremendously. I never realized how much he and Aunt Sue served God at their church, until i attended Aunt Sue's going home celebration in April 2011. God has reunited them again.
