Robert Carl Gruennert (Bob)'s Obituary
Robert Carl Gruennert peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 19th. Bob was born August 3, 1945 in Boca Raton, Florida and grew up in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. He always dreamed of becoming a pilot and achieved that dream. He flew and was a Manager of Belvidere Airport in Poplar Grove, Illinois for 17 years. He would then move to Florida and become the owner of Quality Press and Sports Central. He retired in 2004 only to be bored and take on several part time jobs including blind installation, pharmacy delivery, and Home Watch. He was a total support for his wife Barbara and moved to Longview, Texas with her in 2012 so she could further her career.
He enjoyed golf for the majority of his life, never getting upset when he’d hit a bad shot. He also enjoyed radio control model airplanes and was heavily involved with the Charlotte Sports Modelers club for a few years. He would be in his glory when he had the opportunity to negotiate, always loving to barter. He was cofounder of The Laundry Buddy.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Barbara Heacock Gruennert; his two sisters Sandra (Lance) Messmer of Indianapolis and Barbara Ann Gruennert of Golden, CO; his two children Tommy (Dawn) Gruennert and Susie (Robby) Thomas, and five grandchildren. Nieces and nephews Kim (Steve) major, Julie Riggs, Dale Duesterback, Micheal Duesterbeck, Vernette (Andy) Bergstrom (Maddie, Jack, and Chloe), and Daniel Messmer. His angel Emma Lyla Myers, her sister Olivia Belle Myers, his best buddy Casper and countless dear dear friends.
