Going through a logbook and there is his signature. Bob started my flying career at the Belvidere airport. Great to fly for even though I needed mentoring as a young pilot. Retired two years ago after 41 years flying for Continental/United airlines.
Dear friend Barbara, I just discovered your loss this afternoon and I have profound sadness as I may be traveling to College Station later this year and was looking you folks up to re-establish contact . I am in tears when I think of the many hours we flew together and him teaching me a lot of his professional knowledge which I am certain saved my life on several occasions.
He will always be remembered, Oline passed away January the 28, 2013 and I well know the impact of your helpmate going to his just position, flying with the angels.
A finer man, father and friend, I have yet to meet !

So many memories that bring so many smiles and warm feelings... your early years- our family and growing up has always been my happy memories and greatly missed! Hate that our family was destroyed by the evil "D" word and my kids missed out on the man I loved and cherished! I hate that those family years are just lost and forgotten, but so rich in my memories. Our cub airplane rides, Fourth of July firework wars with the neighbors, our best vacation traveling to Florida in the motor home, no one understanding Tommy in the early years and you always asking, "Sue what did he say"....jamming to The Beach Boys in the T-bird on a 8 track tape, on to my amazing Sweet 16 and you having me drive that broken down stick shift car, me almost killing us at the stop sign as you were yelling NO and I thought you were saying GO....those were the days. Glad we found peace at the end and I want you to know I've always loved and missed you! I love you daddy❤️
Those are all things I wanted to say but we didn't get time alone.... nor do I think you wanted to hear them.
So sad to hear this news!! I met him once when he came to Colorado and he was so funny, so helpful and I loved every conversation I had with him!!! He is seriously missed!!!! Condolences Barb!
