Robert (Pete) Case's Obituary
Robert (Pete) Case, age 95, of Longview, passed away February 7, 2021. He was born October 6, 1925 in Wright City, Oklahoma to Robert and Martha Case.
The family moved to Petersburg, Texas when he was a child, and it was there he attended local schools growing up and graduated from Petersburg High School. During high school he met a fellow student, Wanda Rae Burrow and they were married November 28, 1942, before they graduated high school. Friends and family said the marriage would not last, but they proved them wrong. They were married 78 years at the time of Pete’s passing. Pete was a farmer in Petersburg for over 25 years until they moved to Longview in 1968. In Longview, he hired on with Pine Tree School District and for over 30 years he worked in the maintenance department until his retirement.
Pete was a Master Mason and a member of the James F. Taylor Lodge #169 in Hallsville. Pete and Wanda were also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a life-long member of the Presbyterian faith. They also enjoyed square dancing and was part of the Lucky Squares.
Those left to cherish Pete’s memory is his loving wife of 78 years Wanda Case, 1 daughter Sandra Miller and her husband Jimmie and their children Dawn Grogan and her husband Dennis, and Todd Miller and his wife Dionne, 1 son Randy Case and his children Leigh Ann Heron and her husband Kori, Ryan Case and his wife Kayla and Randy’s former wife and mother to their children Brenda Case. Also survived are 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 1 sister Barbara Wossum and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
