"Coach" Bob was my baseball coach my senior year at North Lamar H.S. in Paris on 1972. We all respected and loved him as a coach and friend. I later met up with him in Longview years later and continued that friendship. Another one of his players, Jim Short, and I talked about him often and reminisce about those great old times on his team, where we won the District championship. Rest on peace Coach.
I went to school with Robert, better known as "Pop" Cearley , here in Hugo. He was over a year older then me but I was in the class of 1948 and he was in the class of '49. I always considered him to be a good friend and a true Buffalo. I became a widow 3 1/2 years ago today after 66 years of marriage to Ike Simpson. My thoughts and prayers are with his wonderfull family.

Robert (POP) Cearley lived across the street from me in Hugo, Oklahoma and we went through school together. He also was a close friend of my husband (Paul Wheelus) and preached in our church and sang solos. He was a dear friend. I send to Nancy and family my love, prayers and sympathy during this time Monnie Wheelus
