To the Kubacak Family:

I met "Rita K" over 30 years ago when I began working for the State Health Department. Rita was ONE of a kind and I loved her dearly. I always enjoyed being around Rita because she could make you laugh. While working with Rita, I had the opportunity to buy many of the beautiful items that she painted and I still have them displayed in my home. Each time I glance at some of Rita's work I am fondly reminded of her. While I left the Health Department after 5 years, I never forgot Rita.

My thoughts are with you and I thank you for the wonderful days and memories your mother gave to me.

I wanted to tell you - the family- what Rita meant to me and my sister Christine Mikell. She came to the hospital to spend time with my sister twice on Nov. 14, 2000. My sister was dying with heart failure but still very lucid. Rita placed her hand on Christine's failing heart and prayed and comforted her. Mark/David - I heard last night regarding your Mom. I am very sorry. I have many fond memories of your mom when we were children growing up. She always seem so 'up-beat' and good to the neighbor kids. I hope you guys are doing ok and drop me an email if feel up to it. Take care.

I don't know where to begin. I was so shocked to hear about Rita. I always pictured her as still going strong at 105! She was just such a remarkable lady. I know you will miss her very much but I also know she is still watching over all of you and will be with you always. She was loved by all who knew her and will be remembered by many for her acts of kindness.
