If you never had the chance to go to a sporting event with Richard and Marsha, you really missed out in a life event. You know how most of us sort of mouth out the national anthem....well Richard would proudly, and very loudly, sing it, ever slightly off key, with his strong vibrato voice. He didn’t need a microphone to lead the crowd. He was a natural! It was one of my favorite memories of being with Richard.

My most adventurous time with Richard happened a few years ago when I had a custom built cabinet made and ready for pick up. I borrowed Julie’s van and with Richard’s help off we went. The cabinet builders loaded the cabinet into the van, which just fit; not an inch to spare. On arriving home, I backed into the garage, asked Richard to grab one end, who politely replied, “Bob, I’m not touching nothing!” I unload the cabinet myself with the expert supervisory support of Richard…..

Richard was my first cousin and we had great visits. He always called by my first and last name. Last time I talked to him on the phone we were talking about birthdays and he said “Sue Gilliam you are just an old woman”and we had a great laugh. I will always cherish that call. Goodby till we meet again Richard.
I will always remember Richard in his Santa hat on Christmas Eve. His participation in our extended family celebration was a joy. Richard and his “Hey Mandy” will always make me smile. Love to you all.
