Reverend Jack D. Walton's Obituary
Reverend Jack Walton
The Reverend Jack Walton was born on May 21, 1929 and died July 6, 2005. A memorial service will be held at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Longview, Texas on Saturday, July 9, at 10:00 AM followed by a graveside service at Hallsville Cemetery.
Brother Jack spent the majority of his life serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His ministry started at Midland Baptist Mission of Midland, Louisiana in 1959. Recently he has been involved in Gospel meetings all around the surrounding areas. He has preached the Gospel with his life more than he could have ever done from the pulpit.
Papaw and Mamaw were married for 56 years. His love for her burned brighter with every day they spent together. He was the rock of the family, unbreakable because of his faith. He loved his 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, spending time with each of them like they were the only ones around.
Brother Jack is survived by his loving wife, Mary Garrick Walton. They have three children, Donald Walton of Longview, Tommy Walton of Longview, and Madeline Walton of Hallsville, along with 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Jack Walton Memorial Fund at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, 2105 E. Loop 281, Longview, TX 75605.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-8 PM.
