To the Pool Family:
We are so sorry to hear about Reuben's passing as he was greatly missed back when he retired from Texas Eastman by so many, especially in the maintenance & operations work field. He was so kind and you can still see it in this sweet obituary photo. May each of you be blessed and know that Jesus is the only way to have "eternal peace" within by accepting Him as your own personal Savior (Rom 10:9-13, John 3:3, John 6:44, John 3:16, Rev 1:5). To God be the Glory Forever, in His precious and Holy Name, Jesus!
With sincere, deepest sympathy,

I can honestly say that Mr. Reuben and I clicked from the first day I met him. He was sitting on the front porch of his house dipping and spitting into that big Folger's Coffee can and drinking coffee out of that bright orange coffee mug. As soon as I told him who I was and where I was from he started telling me what he was going to pay to live at Brookdale not the other way around. Mr. Reuben was sure enough one of my special people. He will surly be missed.

I am so very sorry for y'alls loss. He will truly be missed. I loved going to Brookdale to see him when I would go see my Aunt. I had the pleasure of him singing his famous birthday song to me. He will truly be missed. Loved Mr some Ruben Pool. Much love from The Melvin Minter family. God bless y'all.

It's been almost a year working at Brookdale for me and in that little of time I got to know Mr. Pool. I could tell he really appreciated all the care and effort me and the other caregivers would do for him. He was a man that truly loved the Lord and there wasnt a day that would go by he wouldn't make that clear. His singing and thoughtful words of wisdom showed how great of a man he really was. Reuben you will be truly missed. God bless the family during this time in their life.
One of my favorite memories as a child was when we would pack up the old station wagon and drive to Henderson to see Uncle Reuben. My parents would play dominoes and we (kids) would enjoy playing with our cousins in the back of the house. Then Uncle Reuben would announce that the food was ready and we would jump to the table. Those were really great times. I remember that he would always say the best prayers.
He was a Godly man and I will miss him so much.
