Newton Clarke Benham III's Obituary
Newton Clarke Benham III, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 81, in Longview, Texas. Born on June 26, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, Newton lived a life full of passion, dedication, and love. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Marcille Adamson Benham, as well as his parents, Newton Benham Jr. and Elsie Benham.
Newton devoted over 40 years to his career in electrical distribution sales with Westinghouse (WESCO), where he cultivated lasting relationships and contributed to the industry with his unwavering work ethic and integrity. Beyond his professional achievements, he cherished his role as a father to his children, Michael and Charlotte Benham and Alisha Cheree Hackney, as well as a doting grandfather to his grandchildren: Raven and Mark Deishler, Brandon and Megan Benham, Jacob Benham, Derek and Macy Greene, Julia Forrester, Alyssa and Tre Stewart. He also found immense joy in his great-grandchildren: Mason, Alice, Jaxon, Palmer, Axel, Olivia, Thatcher, Stella, Scarlett, Evelyn, Amelia, Elijah, and Aaliyah.
A devoted member of the Masonic Lodge on Pine Tree Road, Newton's diverse interests included avid hunting and fishing, building and flying RC planes, and repairing and restoring guns for his friends. His gentle spirit and generous heart will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
