I was stunned when I saw your mom's photo a few days ago in the Dallas Morning News. The AA stewardess cap caught my eye. My mom,Harriet Wescott, was born the same year as your mom and, like your mom, was an RN who successfully became an AA stewardess in 1937 at Meacham Field where she met my dad, Louis Ricks, who was a pilot with AA. When they married in 1940, they moved to New York where my mom had to leave AA while my dad became a captain.
I remember as a child my mom speaking of a stewardess named Nell and a pilot named Mitchell. They had to have known each other. I have saved your mom's obituary because I know she and your dad were friends with my parents.

I can't think of Mrs. Mitchell without smiling. She was the sweetest, most feminine lady I have ever met. The first time I met her was in Garland at Texie's studio. When she approached me, full of southern charm, she already knew my name. Dear Suzanne & Family-
I am so sorry for your loss. Losing my own mother who was my rock and my strength as well as my dearest friend was hard. I am blessed that my comfort came from friends and family and most importantly from God.
You are such an amazing woman and there is no doubt that YOUR mother knew that better than the rest of us. Without even knowing it - you marked my life positively, showed me I had what it took to be a DCC and gave me encouragement to pursue my creative dreams. Thank you for that.
