Nelda F. Casey's Obituary
Nelda F. Casey was born on October 17, 1942, in Hawkins, TX. She passed away December 1, 2023, after suffering seven years with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 81 years of age. Nelda graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1961. Before retiring, Nelda was the receptionist for Texas FamiliCare in Hurst, TX.
Nelda loved painting ceramics and baking for family and friends. She was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed having family spend their July 4th and Labor Day holidays playing water volleyball in the backyard pool. Nelda was very involved in her church and was beloved by all that knew her. She was beautiful inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up a whole room. She was so kind and compassionate. Nelda made an impact on many lives. She will forever be missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Onie Wilbanks, her sisters Catherine McKnight, Evelyn Harkins, and Betty Clark, her first husband, Robert Higgins, and her second husband, Roger Casey.
Nelda is survived by her daughter, Kelly Yoder, and husband Ronnie; her son, Todd Higgins, and his wife, Maggie: her grandchildren, Blake McFarland, Colby Horne, Kyle Horne, Lauren Horne, and Liam Higgins. She is remembered by her siblings Annette Dechert and her husband Lloyd, Carolyn Nelson, Carlton Wilbanks, Norma Phinney and her husband Morris, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services to honor her life will take place at Rader Funeral Home located at 1617 Judson Rd., Longview, TX 75601 with Visitation being held on Wednesday, December 6th, from 6:00-8:00pm and Celebration of Life being held on Thursday, December 7th, at 2pm. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview.
