Nelda Berry Kirkland's Obituary

With God's blessing, our beautiful and beloved Mom passed away January 9, 2012. She was born on December 14.1939, in Jacksonville, TX and graduated from Big Sandy High School. Our Nelda will be best remembered for her skill as a nurse, not only as a profession but as a caregiver for all, human or otherwise. She is survived by her devoted mother, Johnnie Sue Berry Davis, her adoring children, Kimberly Kirkland Hill, Kelly Kirkland Richards Jonathan, James Edwin Kirkland Jr. Genie, and Wayne Brooks Susan, her beloved grandchilderen Christopher Brooks, Dylan Richards, Cody Kirkland, Tanner Richards, Cooper Richards, Darby Kirkland, Reece Hill, Katie Kirkland, and Kalahan Hill, and her first great grand child, Riley Cash Kirkland. She is further survived by her sisters, Mary Ann Hess Kennon and Joy Dale Stanley Paul that loved her so dearly, and her neice and nephew Kristine Flannery John and Christopher Stanley. To our comfort, Nelda has been reunited with her father, Henry "Sam" Berry, her step father Jewel Davis, and her grand parents Willie I. and Mary Warick and Sterling J. and Terrie Ann Berry. Nelda will be laid to rest at Chilton's Cemetery in Big Sandy, TX next to her father who she has missed for so long. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to
Friends of Texas Wildlife Organization, of which she was a dedicated member, to honor the passion and caring that Nelda had for all animals.  Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 10 to 12 P.M. with services immediately following at 12 P.M. with burial following.
