I offer to you my deepest condolences at this time of deep grief and sorrow. I did not know Nancy personally but she left a lasting impression upon me in the months that I was at LeTourneau. Her genuine love for God and the purity of her soul beamed through her. I will always remember her beautiful Spanish singing in one of the first LeTourneau chapels I attended.

I cannot begin to understand why God would call a person like Nancy home to be with him. She was such an amazing girl. She has made me want to change the way that i live my life. Every time i saw her she was always smiling and even though we would only talk for a minute or two, she was always such an encouragement for me. She helped to brighten my day.
I can not express my sorrow at the passing or your daughter.
I take joy in knowing that I will see Nancy again with Jesus, but it remains something that i will not be able to comprehend.

I was devastated to hear the news about Nancy. I was in LeTourneau Singers with her and had met her several times previously. She was one of the sweetest expressions of God's love I have ever met! She went out of her way to make sure I felt welcome, and came to be a very good friend. She will be missed terribly! Praise the Lord that she is with him now, free from all pain and sorrow! When I was first looking to come to LeTourneau and had the priveledge of spending an evening with Nancy, her personality made such a wonderful impression on me. I knew that I would feel right at home in this school, even though I had to travel nearly 2,000 miles. What a work of God to put such a person in my life that I could be comfortable away from everything I was used to. It was an honor for two other students and me to perform our "Manos" skit at your church just before we left for Honduras and then to hear Nancy sing later. She was such a blessing to those around her, and I pray that God gives your family comfort as you try to come to terms with this tragedy. You all have a wonderful crowd of friends ready to do anything to help, so please don't hesitate to use that! Thank you for letting Nancy make such a positive impact on me at LeTourneau. Dear Ortiz Family,
I would like to thank all of you guys for the wonderful times that you allowed me to spend with Nancy. She is one of the dearest friends that I have ever had and I love her very much. I remember all of the wonderful times that we spent together at the rose garden, spending the night at each others houses, and eating chili cheese fries at her favorite place along with many other wonderful memories.
Someone told me something the other day that really helped me, they told me "Nancy is doing what she has always wanted to do, she is singing for Jesus" I will always remember her beautiful voice, her wonderful smile, and everything that we were able to do together. I am so thankful for the three years that Rachael, Nancy, and I had together as "the trio" or as everyone on campus called her "my other half."
Even though I don't understand why she was taken at such an early age, I know that she is happier than she has ever been before in her life. She is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and more peaceful than ever before in her life.
Nancy will always have a special place in my heart and I will always remember her as one of my best friends in my whole entire life. Thank You for raising such a wonderful daughter and for allowing us to share such a wonderful part of her life together. Your family has truely blesses me and I Love you all so very much. You will all be in my prayers through this time. If you need help with anything at all please let me know.
