Graveside services for Mildred Alvey, 63, of Tyler, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Grace Hill Cemetery, Longview, with the Reverend Dick Cayce officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She passed away Monday morning, March 7, 2005 in Longview.
Mrs. Alvey was born November 17, 1941 in Selmer, Tennessee, and had been a resident of Tyler since 1987, moving from Pop?s Landing in Ore City. She retired from the Longview News Journal after 17 and 1/2 years service.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Lee Alvey.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda K. Woodcock, Randy W. Alvey and wife Shari L., Herschel Leo Alvey and wife Patricia, all of Longview, and Margie Marie Duncan and husband Ronnie G. of Gilmer; sister, Ina Jean Wilmeth of Guys, Tennessee; mother, Maxine Alvey of Selmer, Tennessee; grandchildren, John L. Woodcock, Christopher D. Woodcock, Donald R. Tatum, Jr., Stephenie R. Alvey, Jesse W. Barron, Karen L. Alvey, Kimberley A. Alvey, Tommy Lee Alvey, John C. Reynoso, Kristy M. Reynoso, and Anton A. Alvey; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn R. Arthur, Jesse W. Barron, Jr., Ethan Barron, and Dameon M. Alvey.
