Martha,
I am so sorry about your mom. She was a very kind-hearted lady and was always so nice to me. We had some very sweet visits especially when she would come shopping.
Martha, I will never forget our good times and the friendship we shared as former neighbors and co-workers at Skaggs Drug.
My prayer is that God will comfort you and your family as only He can do. Again, I am so sorry for the loss of a very special lady.
Your friend,
Ruth Sullivan Kay
Deepest condolences to the Mildred Waters Lane family and friends. - Fred & Janice Blevins Gammon, Kingsport
To my cousins, Martha, Barbara, Bill and Mike I just want to say you were so blessed to have such a wonderful Mother. Mildred (my aunt) was one of the sweetest people you would ever hope to meet. You have heard that great things come in small packages....well she was one small package you didn't want to miss out on knowing.
I will never forget that trip to Hawaii, the three sisters Margaret, Edith, Mildred (my mother and my two aunts) with my younger sister Cathy and me as chaperons. We had so much fun, especially the night we talked Mildred in to going on the dinner cruise, she was always afraid of water! She got on that boat and before you knew she had totally forgotten she was anywhere near water and having a ball.
I will miss her humor, her sweet smile and as others have mentioned that chocolate pie and don't forget her white cake with chocolate icing. Mildred you were a blessing to us all and a second mother many times in our lives. Rest in Peace and don't you, Mama and Aunt Edith get to rowdy up there. I love you and miss you already.
Martha and family, sorry for your family,s loss. May God be with ya'll through these times.

My Aunt Mildred was one of a kind! She was petite, but never went unnoticed, she was quiet, but loved to laugh, she always had her hair done and had a pair of shoes to match every outfit in the closet!
I always referred to her as "Miss Mille", and somehow I always felt like she liked it. I remember her trying to feed anyone that walked thru her front door and yes, there was always a dessert to indulge in. And, if she came to visit, she brought the food with her!
I have many memories that I think about and always end up laughing...Miss Mille could always make me laugh!
I know that Martha Faye, Barbara, Bill & Mike as well as all her grandkids will miss her dearly, but know that she is looking down at you as she reunites with the rest of the family that has gone before her. There's surely a reunion party going on up there now!
I will always cherish the times and travels that we shared Miss Millie...you made them special.
Your niece,
Cathy
To Martha, Barbara, Bill and Mike I send my condolences for the loss of your sweet mother, my Aunt Mildred. Although she was a tiny lady, she had a big heart and a great sense of humor. My fondest memories of her take me back to childhood days when my family lived in Longview for a brief time. Going to Aunt Mildred's house meant there was a chance that a chocolate cake would be on the table in the kitchen waiting for us, but only if we were behaving ourselves and staying out of trouble with the cousins. Needless to say, sometimes we got cake and sometimes we didn't! Bless you, Aunt Mildred, and rest in peace. Your niece, HIlda Kaye
