Mike was born on June 16, 1955 in Sherman, TX to Jack and Winnie Mae Murley. He was a graduate of Texas Tech University, where he played football. He worked in Risk Management for Martin Resources for 24 years where He was a dedicated employee and enjoyed (pestering) his coworkers. He was married to the love of his life, Gayle, on December 26, 1985. They would have celebrated 31 years of marriage this December. Mr. Murley was a loving family man who cherished spending time with his family, especially cooking for them and traveling with them. He was a wonderful and very dedicated son, husband, dad, and Pop to his grandkids. Mike played the banjo and loved sharing the love of Jesus through music with his brothers in Christ in On My Way, a gospel bluegrass band. He loved the Lord with all his heart and lived his life to reflect that. He will be greatly missed.
