Michael Pemberton's Obituary
Earl Michael Pemberton was born to Clifford and Louise Pemberton on July 4, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. He passed away April 18, 2016 in Longview, TX, after a short battle with cancer. He graduated from Lindale High School. Mike then attended Tyler Junior College and graduated from The University of Houston with a Degree in Pharmacy in 1970. He married Jeannie Tapp on April 11, 1970 at the chapel on the campus of The University of Houston. In 1974, Mike and Jeannie moved to Longview, and in 1975 he began employment at Louis Morgan #1, which he later owned and operated.
Mike was a member of the Texas Pharmacy Association, American Pharmacists Association and National Community Pharmacist Association. He was also a member of the American Pharmacies Co-Op; where he served as a director of their lobby, The Texas Pharmacy Business Council. Mike served as Secretary of the Board of Directors of a pharmacy technology company, DataRx Management. Mike was elected as Secretary of the Cherokee Water Company Board of Directors.
Mike and his wife Jeannie have a very close group of friends with whom they loved to travel and host parties at their barn and lake house.
Mike Pemberton was a special man who always put his family, friends and customers first. He loved being “Big Daddy” to his grandson, William.
Mike is survived by his spouse, Jeannie Pemberton, and son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Sarah Pemberton of Fort Worth and grandson, William. Also left to cherish his memory are his mother, Louise Pemberton; sister and brother-in law, Dianna and Earl Harris; sister, Judy Kitchens; brother and sister-in-law, Krista and Larry Pemberton; sister-in-law, Dorothy Eacho; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patsy and Dave Darnell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Pemberton and brother-in-law, Jeb Eacho.
The Pemberton family wants to express their gratitude to Mary Williams for her total devotion to Mike. The care she provided him greatly improved the quality of his life in his last months.
In addition, the family would like thank Dr. Larry Frase, the staff at Texas Oncology and Heart’s Way Hospice for their care of Mike during his illness.
