Merrel Vernon Telschow's Obituary
Merrel Vernon Telschow of Houston, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008. A man of great integrity and strong character, he was born in Glen Flora, Texas on May 5, 1917. A lifetime Houstonian, and longtime member of Bethel Church, Merrel recently moved to The Woodlands and joined The Woodlands United Methodist Church.
Merrel was in the U.S. Army with the 951st Field Artillery. He served in WWII, landing on Omaha Beach D+6 and fought many battles til the end of the war.
Merrel is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy Strong Telschow, his sister Jocelyn Eschberger, his sister-in-law Mickie Telschow, two nephews and many devoted cousins, nieces and nephews. His love and laughter will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Henderson, Texas, Hwy 259 North. Burial will be at Old Prospect Cemetery near Mt. Enterprise. The family visitation will be from 5-7pm Wednesday at the funeral home
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 29th in the Robb Chapel at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive.
