Merrel Telschow was a man of honor, integrity, strength and goodness and he lived his entire life that way. Merrel was my uncle by marriage to Dorothy for over 50 years and he was always interested in what my family and I were doing.I have very fond memories of Merrel that go back as far as my childhood memories take me. He was always the uncle who would get down on the floor and play with the young ones at frequent family get togethers in Mt. Enterprise and as we grew up he would be outside wrestling and playing games with me, my brothers and my many cousins. My wife, kids and I got to know Merrel even better over the last 20 years as we lived near each other in Houston and more recently in The Woodlands. Merrel and Dorothy have become an important, meaningful part of my family's life over the years. Merrel would lend a helping hand to anyone in need and he did so with joy in his heart. Merrel was in a number of hospitals and rehab centers over a 100+ day period but in the last few days of Merrel's life while he was in ICU, Merrel told me while I was visiting him that he knew the end was near for him but I never heard him complain once or express fear of dying a single time. He told me he had lived a wonderful and fulfilled life of 91 years and was married for 61 loving years to the love of his life. He lived his life in a way that he was ready to meet God and Jesus whenever they chose to call him home. How many people can truly say that? My wife Lisa, son Cameron, daughter Morgan and I will miss Merrel and his joyful laughter terribly. Heaven will be an even better place now that Merrel is there. Dorothy - we love you!##imported-begin##M. Brad Strong##imported-end##
