Maxine Barrett James' Obituary
Services for Maxine Barrett James, 81, of Longview will be held at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. Reverend David English and Dr. Glen Owens officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood, Texas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. James was born in Edgewood, Texas to Reverend Ed and Susan Rittie Barrett on September 15, 1931. She graduated Edgewood High School and married Larry Keith James on September 24, 1950 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Mrs. James worked for Pine Tree I.S.D. for 25 years. She loved her children and loved attending her grandchildren's activities. She loved her church, music and was a very Godly woman. She loved her Lord and loved her family. Mrs. James's life was a reflection of that. The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice at Margaret's House for the love and care they gave Mrs. James. She is preceded in death by her parents Reverend Ed and Susan Rittie Barrett ; brothers R.L. Barrett, Les Barrett, and N.L. "Red" Barrett.
She is survived by her husband Larry Keith James of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Herman Bell of Hallsville, Texas., Lisa and Barry Jordan of Royse City, Texas; grandchildren Larry Bell, Brittany Bell, Taylor Jordan, Jared Jordan; brother Coy Barrett of Edgewood, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
