Services for Max M. Rae , 65, of Longview will be 10 AM Tuesday, August 10th at the Alpine Church of Christ in Longview with Rodney Cox and Jerry McCaghren officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be at Lakeview Cemetery. M Read Obituary

No words can ever say what one feels when a loved one is lost. I am so sorry. Max was such a dear friend of mine. He was always there to help and would often go above and beyond of what one would expect. We shared several plane rides together and long conversations about flying. Oh, how do I begin to convey my love and hurt for this precious family. I have been a part of this family for over 45 years and never has anyone mistreated me or my sons. When we lose a family member in either family, we all hurt together. I've never met a more loving family in all my years. Max, like Daniel Jack and my grandson, have been a ray of sunshine in our families. Juan Jean, Frances, Tom Alex and Jack, I know the loss you are feeling. Jack Steele introduced me to Max. Several years ago Jack and I, along with Max and his two brothers and Eugene Younger, went to the Dallas area to watch a high school football playoff game. Max drove and we all rode in his car. Max was so friendly and kind. I kept up with Max through Jack. Jack would tell me about Max's flying career. Through Jack I felt I got to know Max.
I am so sorry about his death. I know your heart is broken. He was such a good man. He will be missed.

May the smile of your Dad, Brother, Son & Uncle continue to shine as you ponder on the love for live Max had. Max was our coatings vendor at Union Tank Car Company for several years. His very presence lit up the room as he spoke of his flight missions. I will never forget, he did a fly over during one of our company picnics at McWhorter Park! I know he loved every minute of it because we were able to see him in action.
Each day and season will bring you a memory to cherish. I pray the the angels wings give you peace, comfort, & warmth in the earthly absence of your beloved Max.
