Funeral services for Mattie Cornett Lewis, 74, of Longview, will be 2 PM Wednesday , October 22, 2003, at Winterfield United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Lindstrom officiating. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery under the Read Obituary

I am so sorry for your loss. I have been thinking a lot lately about your mom. I was going to call her and try to see if I could get in touch with you, Helen. I am sorry that I didn't get around to it. Your mom was there for me during those years when my mom was so crazy and I was in such a bad situation. She was so supportive and just listened to me. I will miss her. If you get this,Helen, please know that I wanted to be there for you today. I am home sick with what may be the flu. You and your family don't need that, too. Dear Betty, Kathy and Helen:
In case you don't remember, I worked for your Dad at Pine Tree High School. Although, I have not seen you since your dad's funeral, I feel as though I know all of you. Your dad was a remarkable man and one of the best to work for. I got to know your mom through him and we kept in touch for years after his death. It is ironic that I was just thinking about her last week.
