Matthew Thomas Crooks
Funeral services for Matthew Thomas Crooks, 25, of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverends John Ogwyn and Dick Stagner officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant, Texas in the Gladewater Baptist Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Matthew had been a resident of Longview since 1991, coming from Center, TX. He was born April 17, 1978 in Sweetwater, Texas, to Larry Thomas and Sylvia Anne Aldridge Crooks. He was a 1996 graduate of Spring Hill High School. He attended Kilgore Junior College, and received his bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler. He was formerly employed by Bemis Custom Products for 5 years, and was a former employee of Good Shepherd Medical Center. Matt worked with the East Texas Literacy Council and was a very avid bodybuilder.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clifton Crooks.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Sylvia Ann Aldridge Crooks of Longview, and his father, Larry Thomas and Robin Crooks of Snyder, TX.; sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Cherokee Brewer of Longview; brother, Monte Clifton Crooks of Snyder; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Aldridge of Mt. Pleasant; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Clifton ?Mattie? Crooks of Mt. Pleasant; niece, Taylor BreAnne Brewer of Longview; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and a host of friends.
