Mary Ann is was my mom’s favorite paternal cousin. I’m so sad to learn of her passing. I remember visiting her home in Henderson and checking out the watermelons in the massive garden. Busting them open to determine how delicious they were. Such good memories. Rest in peace.
Mrs. Zager was one the GREATS in the classroom. I remember laughing a lot in her class. She had such wit, humor, and charm. Her energy and enthusiasm were infectious. Her love for her "kiddos" so evident. Foster Middle School was quite the daunting place for a scrawny 6th grader and her classroom was a haven. Mrs. Zager is a big reason why I became a teacher myself (miracle of miracles). She demonstrated that learning (and teaching) could be exciting and fun, and more importantly, that teaching is a powerful calling with the potential to impact and change lives for the glory of God. Mrs. Zager, you changed the world, one student at a time. Condolences and God's blessings to the Zager family.

I really loved having her as a teacher!! When I was in elementary school and junior high she would come pick me up to help her in her classroom with her bulletin boards and getting her room ready for school. She also would come by our house when my mom made one of her favorite chocolate cakes. Learned so much from this wonderful lady and will hold her in my heart forever. Vickie Neeley Brewer

I'll always remember the way I felt when I first met Mary Ann during tea time on the Alaska cruise in Summer 2016. She was so vibrant, funny, honest, and wise! We kept in contact since and I always loved our phone calls. I will never forget what a wonderful person she was to me, and will miss talking with her dearly. Sending my love and condolences to the Zager family.
