Mary Jean Floyd's Obituary
Funeral services for Mary Jean Floyd, 50, of Longview will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 23, 2011 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Brother GA. Stanfield officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd Cemetery in Upshur County. She was welcomed into the arms of her Lord Jesus on December 21, 2011.The family will receive friends Friday from 12-2 PM prior to the service.
Mary Jean Floyd was born to Dr. Royce M. and Mary Nell Floyd on June 2, 1961 in Longview, Texas. She graduated with her BA of Science from Stephen F. Austin and also attended ETBU to further her education. She carried her love of science into the classroom. She taught high school Chemistry at Longview High School, Union Hill High School and Gladewater High School. She also attended Zion Tabernacle. Mary was a loving and caring person who enjoyed nature and science and will remain in the hearts of her family forever.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Mary Nell Floyd; her son, Dewayne Wages and his wife Nicole; her granddaughter, Jalissa; her siblings, Dr. Brenda Copeland and her husband Danny, Danny Floyd and his wife Machelle; and her extended family, Gaylon Wages, Patricia Lighthall, Aleisha Darnell, Daryl Lighthall, Cindy Cole Boss; many nieces, nephews, friends and students all over East Texas, and her faithful dog Pancho.
