Mary Ann Collier's Obituary
Mary Ann Keith Collier was given her heavenly angel wings on December 10, 2015. She was born in Marlin, Texas on December 30, 1931 to Westbrook and Bea Keith. She married her 7th grade sweetheart, Pat S. Collier, and was happily married for 63 years.
Mary Ann attended Longview High School where she was voted Outstanding Sophomore, Outstanding Junior, and crowned Queen her senior year. She graduated in 1949, and she and Pat were dedicated alumni of the “49ers”. She then received her physical education degree at Texas Woman’s University. She taught at Longview High School, under T.G. Fields, and also taught at School For Little Children. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and was also a member of many volunteer and social clubs throughout Longview. What she loved most was providing cookies for her faithful Lobo football fans, clogging for the Down Home Cloggers for 13 years, and spending time with Pat at her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by her husband Pat Collier and their daughters and spouses: Debbie and Kim Frazier, Angie and Todd Guest, & Amy and Randy Curtis. Mary Ann was known as “Mama’P” to 6 grandchildren: Klancey and her husband Jeremy, Taylor, Grant, and Emma Guest, and Avery and Aly Curtis & 3 great-grandchildren: Koven, Lilly, and Ollie. She is also survived by her sister Jeri Hartung. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Cathy Collier whom she cared for, due to an illness, for 47 years.
Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home on Sunday, December 13th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Monday, Dec 14th at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Longview. Graveside services are to follow at Memory Park in Longview Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Windridge Therapeutic Equestrian Center PO Box 5932 Longview, TX 75608
