I just saw Marvin and spoke with him two weeks ago. He and my dad, Marcus, were close friends, since working together in Gadsden. In fact, my dad said he had "run into" Marvin there in rehab! It really is a small world. We were looking forward to his next birthday party in July. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Marvin was such a great friend, along with your mom, Thelma, to so many. Thinking of you at this time.##imported-begin##Johnny Gross##imported-end##
Sorry for your families' loss. Although our families have been apart all these years, I have always had the best memories of Uncle Marvin and my cousins. One thing I##imported-begin##Jerry Quinn##imported-end##
The world was a better place because Marvin's compassion and kindness reigned through. Marvin was dad's best friend and they came to Texas from Alabama to work at Lone Star Steel. Marvin and Thelma were there when I was born and they were my godparents. I called to check on him every couple of weeks since Dad's death in 2002. I enjoyed our conversations about the old times. What a great man who I will truly miss! What a great void I will feel. He lives in my heart forever! May God bless each of you.##imported-begin##Adrienne Gray Myers##imported-end##

Dana, Rickt & Sharon,
I was saddened to hear about the passing of your grandfather. I remember the first time I ever met him, when he lived in Ore City. Then in later years after he moved to Longview I go to know him pretty well. He was a good and kind man. I know he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. May God Bless your entire family.
