I called bingo for brookdale on Fridays , an Ms. Martha was my most special lady there. I loved her , she was so very sweet an always had a smile for me. I always kissed her on the cheek an told her , I'll see ya next Friday, she would say I love you too an you be careful an I told her to be good till I got back the next week. I am going to miss her so much as I know everyone will that knew her . My love an prayers are with Ms. Martha's family. I am so proud that I got to be a little part of her life.

Sweet Miss Martha is now walking on those streets of gold with our Lord Jesus Christ. Shes in no more pain & bound no more to that wheelchair. I've had the pleasure to spend many, many days with this sweet lady. We've shared many laughs & some tears. She once said as she sat beside me.. Your really pretty, but your not too smart! Months later, I reminded her of this, She couldn't believe she said it.. We both had a great laugh about it. She was one of the strongest, willful women I've ever known. The days at work will not be the same for a lot of us. Her spot will be empty. Her face will be missed. .but Miss Martha.. you will always be in memories and in our hearts.

The Bible calls death an enemy.(1Cor. 15:26) In a sense we all are being pursued by it. We have even witnessed it take or loved ones. The Bible also assures us in that same verse that death will be brought to nothing. But for those victims that have been taken away we have the promise that one day they will live again. In the meantime the pain, the grief and the feelings of helplessness can seem unbearable. The Bible helps us to understand how Jesus felt when his close friend, Lazarus died @ John 11:33,35 which says, " he groaned in the spirit and became troubled". He even gave way to tears. He felt the pain and sorrow that death brings. He later showed his desire to fight and overcome that enemy, through his Father, Jehovah God, by resurrecting Lazarus.(John 11:41,42) In due time this will be done on a large scale and death will be no more. So, until that time, may these scriptures and the memories of Marha Laine bring you comfort.

Martha and I were very close friends here at Brookdale Senior Living Longview. She had lived here about 4 or 5 yrs. and I have been here 7 yrs. She always said that we hit it off right from the first because we were just alike "mean" LOL. I am going to miss her so very much as will all the others here. My deepest sympathy is with her family...now she can be with her beloved husband and son. God speed my precious friend.
