Martha A. Haney's Obituary
Martha Ann Haney was born November 29, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Alton Lee Sides and Margaret Mary Dunn Sides. She passed away November 10, 2015. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday November 13, 2015 at Radar Funeral Home in Longview Texas. Followed by a graveside service at 3 pm on Monday November 16, 2015 at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth Texas.
Martha married James H. Haney in Weatherford Texas on July 11, 1959. They were married 53 years at the time of James' passing. Survivors include: Michell Kimberly Gibson and husband Cleve, Margaret Klara Segovia and husband David, Dr. Marian Kathleen Querry McCray and husband Payton. Combined, Martha has six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, respectively: Michelle Ivey, Austin Popp, Carson Popp, Alex McCray, Ryan Bunch and Will McCray, Grant Gibson and Ella Ivey.
She was active in The First United Methodist Church in Marshall Texas. She recently went back to her Lutheran roots by beginning attendance at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Longview. She was an active participant in the Bible Study Fellowship Organization attending classes for years.
Martha spent a lot of her time quilting and was a member of the Piecemakers Quilt Guild. A life long seamstress known to make everything from smocked baby gowns, prom dresses, twirling costumes, baptismal gowns and much more. She loved to work in her flower beds and always had flowers blooming. She was a closet painter known to paint banners for the church and wooden Christmas ornaments. She was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and a Nascar fan and loved her VW bug.
