Marilyn Eldred Russell's Obituary
Graveside services for Marilyn Eldred Russell, 83, of Longview will be held at 3 PM Friday, April 10, 2015 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Rosewood Park with Reverend David Farmer officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Russell passed away Saturday morning in a local nursing home. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.
Marilyn was born on May 19, 1931 in Stockton, CA to Stephen Lante Eldred and Alice Potter Eldred. She was married to the love of her life, John H. Russell on April 4, 1953. Mrs. Russell loved her family and loved being involved in their lives by leading Campfire and Cub Scouts. She started her working career by being a transcriptionist for AAA Auto Insurance so she could be a stay at home mom. Later she worked for her Father and Mother-in-law, Harry and Ruth Russell at the Fixture House. She later worked in the children’s department of the Nicholson Memorial Library and in 1972 she started her Banking Career. She retired from Chase Bank after 22 years of service to our community.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her father and mother-in-law.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Debra McFarland and her husband Pat; her son Rusty Russell and his wife Mary; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Blalock, Kyle Blalock and his wife Jessica, Richard Russell, and Austin Russell; and great grandchildren Mason and Emily Blalock.
